I am engaged to love of my life, my soulmate, my other, better half, Bill, whom I met in April 2006. We will be married May 17th. We are owned by two cats and one dog. I have 2 terrific sons, with 2 lovely daughters-in-law and am in awe of my absolutely perfect 7 grandchildren. My life is wonderful, I am content, I love every day. I love to walk the beaches near our home, collecting agates, other beautiful rocks and driftwood. I also read voraciously, surf the internet, grow houseplants, tend our lovely yard full of azaleas and rhodies. However, my avocation is my writing. I am writing a novel and occasionly I write poetry to express those feelings too deep or too silly to tell in prose. Namaste
On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:

a forum to express my views and to learn more about writing. For years I have written anything and everything from short stories to poetry, from personal essays to, finally a book. I never had the intestinal fortitude needed to submit work to any publishing venue. Now, this year, 2008, is my year. I can no longer hide behind my fears. I need to step forward, to seek input, criticism, even, on my writing, how I can improve it and the steps I need to take to become published.

I love most all kinds of music. I love to listen to Rock n Roll from the 50s, 60s 70s. I love Heavy Metal from the 70s, big Hair Bands from the 80s, almost all Disco. But I also love some classical, lots of jazz, some New Country, Big Bands, some Rap too.

Science Fiction, Mystery, Detective- by title I love Emergence, by David Palmer - The People by Zenna Henderson - the alphabet series by Sue Grafton, Robert Heinlien, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, Sue Grafton, Agatha Christie, Roald Dahl, Elizabeth George, Nevada Barr, Sharyn McCrumb
Favorite Movies, Actors, Genres:

Meatballs, Shirley Valentine, Judging Your Life, Its a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, Just about any of the old movies. I love black and white movies.
Favorite TV Shows, Actors:

Lost, Star Treks (all), Babylon 5, Law and Order (all) CSI -Las Vegas, Without a Trace, NCIS, Life, new favorite!!! Corner Gas!

the beach right down the road from my house, Anywhere with any of my grandchildren: Heather, Lacy, Nicole, Zachary, Austin, Kyle and Ja'nae.

It is inhumane, in my opinion, to force people who have a genuine medical need for coffee to wait in line behind people who apparently view it as some kind of recreational activity.
